Get the scoop on Mario’s new galaxy-sized adventure for the Wii with our Super Mario Galaxy game review!

It's a Mario! The famous plumber returns for another adventure in the Mushroom Kingdom with Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii. What starts as a party to celebrate an evening of shooting stars turns into chaos and confusion as Bowser flies in with his airships and uses a flying saucer to kidnap Princess Peach! To save the day Mario has to travel to dozens of planets with the help of a galactic observatory and friendly stars. Is this gravity-bending game a blast? Find out with Gary's Super Mario Galaxy game review.

Super Mario Galaxy :: Galactic Adventure Awaits!

This new game is packed full of classic Mario action with pirhana plants, goombas, koopas and Bowser. But, it takes it all into space and fills the levels with tiny planets, each one with its own gravity. Combine that with 3D levels and lots of other gravity-warping effects and you get one twisted Mario game!

Super Mario Galaxy :: Gravity-Warping Fun!

It's awesome, it really is. The best part isn't the new flying bee-suit Mario or the great graphics, it's how much fun all the levels are! Whether you're collecting Star Bits for extra lives and to pelt your enemies, hopping around on a giant cake in space or battling a monster boss on its own tiny planet, you'll be grinning the entire time.

Super Mario Galaxy :: Space Sucks

The biggest problem with this game is that occasionally the gravity goes haywire and the game glitches. It also takes a few minutes to get used to the weird controls and crazy levels.

Super Mario Galaxy :: A Trip Worth Taking?

This game blasts-off into adventure! It's classic Mario action warped into 3D and spiced up with new power-ups and bosses. There's even a "sidekick" style two-player option that's great for letting younger gamers or parents play along. If you've got a Wii, get this game!

Super Mario Galaxy Thumbs Up:

  • Classic Mario action.
