Author: Richard Scrimger

What happens when three guys float a raft down the river, Huckleberry Finn-style? Find out with Kidzworld's review of this adventurous book.

An Adventure Begins

When a tornado hits their suburban town and destroys some trees in their backyard ravine, best friends Jules, Chris and Corey take the broken branches and make a raft to float down the river. The mission of their rafting trip is simple - to get to Lake Ontario, where their parents will pick them up - but these boys are in for one heck of an adventure.

Landing in Hot Water

The trip starts out great, but it's not long before the guys stumble into trouble. After they almost drown and get sucked by leeches, the boys crash a funeral and a pool party, almost get beaten up by homeless people, and get terrorized by a gang of thugs led by the terrifying Bonesaw! As if that weren't bad enough, Corey gets kidnapped by the gang! Will Jules, Chris and Corey be able to stay out of Bonesaw's clutches and get out of the ravine alive? You'll have to read the book to find out!

The Bottom Line

Don't be surprised if you feel like taking a rafting trip of your own, minus the scary adventures, after reading Into the Ravine. It has a little of everything - adventure, mystery, humor and even a little romance - to keep you glued to the book - all 260 pages!
