Author: Chris d'Lacey
The third novel in the dragons series starts with David off in the arctic with his girlfriend Zanna on a research project and writing a new novel in his spare time. Then things get crazy with polar bears, the Pennykettle dragons, the evil Gwilanna and a new star that heralds... something big. What's up in this book? Find out with our review.
Danger! Drama! Dragons!
David's new story starts coming to life, a
Pennykettle mystery begins unfolding,
ancient legends about people,
dragons and bears rear their head and even more
strangeness abounds as the fire star approaches! Picking up the pace, this book is
crammed with action as everything builds towards a
final confrontation between the forces of good and evil, bears and dragons, and fantasy and normality.
Golly! Gosh! Gadzooks!
If you've read the other books in this series,
prepare to be amazed as everything comes together in this one! It's an
intense ride that barely gives you time to catch your breath before it's all "Grar! Polar bear eating your face!" again. Fire Star is a
must-read with an incredible ending that will leave you waiting for book four -
Fire Eternal.
Perilous Polar Problems
It's a must-read for fans of the series, but can leave
new readers confused since there's barely any introduction or explanation. It just dives into the action so it really helps to
read the earlier books first. It also feels like it's supposed to be the end of a series that has been changed to let the author write more dragon stories.
Bottom Line
While a bit confusing for new readers,
Fire Star is a treat for series fans. It will leave you craving more of David, Zanna, the
Pennykettle dragons and the mysterious... well, you'll have to read it to find out.
