Childhood
Brandon grew up in Seattle, Washington, where he developed a love for basketball at a young age. One of his closest childhood friends was Nate Robinson, who now plays for the New York Knicks. Brandon attended Garfield High School, where he became one of the best players in the state of Washington's history. After graduation, Brandon flirted with the idea of going straight to the NBA Draft, but reconsidered and signed with nearby, University of Washington. After four stellar seasons with the Huskies (where he was an All American his senior year), Brandon was chosen sixth overall in the 2006 Draft to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was immediately traded to the Portland Trailblazers.NBA Career
Brandon wasted no time proving he was the real deal. In the 2006 Vegas Summer League he stole the show, averaging 19 point per game and shooting an unheard of 65 percent from the field. His impressive play continued on to the regular season as he averaged a very balanced 16.8 point, 4.4 rebounds and 4 assists per game. He was named the 2006-2007 Rookie of the Year - receiving 127 of 128 first place votes. In his sophomore campaign, Brandon raised his game to a whole new level. Aside from improving his nearly all of his stats, he has become the leader of the Blazers team which has grown into one of the best teams in the league. If Brandon keeps leading the Blazers to wins, he will be considered for the MVP award in just his second season!All Around Threat
Brandon is one of the most fundamentally sound players in the league. To come in the league with his versatile skill set and maturity are very rare and he is a prime example why it is better to play all four years of college before entering the NBA Draft.
