Monopoly Electronic Banking Edition Board Game Review

The new age of Monopoly has modern locations, different pieces and electronic cards instead of cash! We review the remake of this classic game.

The Monopoly board game has been around for so long that dinosaurs used to play it. It's the game where you compete with your friends to buy property and collect cash as you race around the board - always collecting $200 when you pass Go. The new Monopoly Electronic Banking Edition keeps the classic family board game fun by swapping out the old locations and pieces for new ones. Now you can own Hollywood and buy a slice of the internet! The pieces are new, too, with a space shuttle, rat-sized dog in a purse, and even a segway. The weirdest part is swapping the cash for bank cards, it's a bit of a bummer when you can't wave a fistfull of cash at your opponents and gloat, but it makes setup and cleanup easier. This new version of Monopoly is great - all the classic fun but with a modern twist.

Thumbs Up:

  • Easy to play and clean up - no cash to count!
  • New locations and new pieces - including a segway!
  • Classic board game fun.
  • Thumbs Down:

  • A bajillion dollars feels cooler when it's a fistfull of bills.
  • The money machine could use a brighter screen.
