Video Game Festival

The Twin Galaxies.com crew are all about video game records. They're the keepers of the official Video Game and Pinball World Records and they cover everything from Pac-Man to Crazy Taxi on every system - arcade to Nintendo and even computers. Once every couple of years Twin Galaxies come out with the Video Game and Pinball Book of World Records and now it's time for a new edition.

Unless you're planning on waiting a couple of years, this is the last chance you're gonna have to get your name in the book and become a video game legend. July 20-22 in Bloomington, Minnesota the Twin Galaxies Video Game Festival is taking over. They've staked out their turf, lined up games and they're keeping score. Get your butt down there and get ready to compete.

The lineup includes the cream of the crop of video games, past, present and future. Check out what's playing:

  • Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
  • Crazy Taxi
  • Gran Turismo
  • Twisted Metal: Black
  • SSX
  • Super Smash Brothers
  • Mario Kart 64
  • WWF No Mercy
  • Marvel vs. Capcom 2
  • Age of Empires II: The Conquerors
  • Quake III
  • Counter Strike
  • Golden Tee Golf
  • And more!

  • Konami

How about celebrity gamers? They exist and while they aren't on CNN just yet, you'll be able to meet them and see them in action. The top dog, big cheese and head enchilada is Billy "All-American" Mitchell, winner of "Video Game Player of the Century" and the first guy to score a perfect Pac-Man game. From the true north strong and free comes Rick "Captain Canada" Fothergill, Billy's closest competitor and the only enemy he can't beat by spending more quarters.

Twin Galaxies Video Game Festival is the place to be on July 20-22, 2001 at the Mall of America in Bloomington Minnesota. Whether you're looking to check out the latest and greatest in video games, meet, or even become, a world champion or if you're just looking to have a blast with some wicked video games. It'll rock.
