MapleStory iTCG: OMG Bosses! Set Review

Courtesy of Wizards
It's time to get bossy with the new MapleStory card game set - OMG Bosses! The first new set for the award-winning MapleStory iTCG puts you in charge of the bosses from the online game as well as new monster leaders, letting you power-up the rest of your creatures. You've seen a few of the cards from this set with our previews, now find out how awesome the set is with our card game review!
Big Bad Bosses and New Cards
There are
60 new cards in this set with big bosses, monster leaders and more!
OMG Bosses! is the first batch of new cards for the game and really gives you a bunch of new options for creating the coolest deck ever. Plus, each nine-card
Booster Pack has a card code you can use to
unlock bonus items in the
MapleStory online game! Here's the 411 on the new cards and powers in this set.
Bosses - Supersized monsters with mega attacks, but they suck for leveling up and don't heal.
Leaders - Monsters that power up other monsters of their type.
Class Attacks - Cards that get stronger for each class card.
Shiny Rares - Foil rare cards that look awesome!
W00T & ZOMG!
The leader monsters and cards that get stronger if you stick with one class make
building decks easier - just stick to your favorite class and pack all the monsters that get a boost into your deck. Boom, done. The bosses are a blast too, especially
King Slime and
Alishar.
Wizards get the biggest boost with this set though - more blasting magic, the awesome power of Alishar, healing with
Boosted Heal and the 150-damage
BOOM! power of
Alishar's Death Magic.
You're Not the Boss of Me!
As cool as bosses are, except for
King Slime it's
hard to play one before turn seven or eight and it's easy to win before then! The Leader monsters are great a one-turn boost, but they'll get clobbered as soon as your opponent gets a turn because they don't get their own
power-up - except for
Dark Drake's Shadow Sky!
Is it Fun Being the Boss?
Not only does this set make it easier to build
decks, the
boss monsters are a blast for casual games! It's also the first net set for the
MapleStory card game so you totally need to grab some, especially for your wizard decks.
Thumbs Up:
OMG! Bosses! They're cool.
Leader monsters make it easier to build powerful decks.
Wizards get awesome cards with Alishair & Boosted Heal.
New codes for the MapleStory online game!
Thumbs Down:
Bosses = so big the game is over before you can use them!
Only three Leader monsters and they're hard to get.
