Need For Speed from EA is a series of super-smooth looking race games. They're all about high-speed testosterone-driven super cars whipping around corners, screaming through city streets and putting the pedal to the metal. Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed (NFS:PU) takes one of the world's most famous cars and lets you race it through history. You start with the first model and advance to the ultra modern beauties.

The Need For Speed games are famous for having awesome graphics and NFS:PU is up there with the best of them. Incredibly detailed cars on even crazier looking tracks are gonna make you wonder why anybody bothers with real cars.

The tunes for NFS:PU are good as long as you're a techno fan. If you get sick of them you'll have to toss in your own CD. Maybe you'll drive better with a little pop music in the stereo. The car noises are all that and a bag of chips. You can hear the cars revving up and zooming along as they fly around the tracks.

Unfortunately the controls are a little weak - there's a bit of slipping and sliding going on when you hit the corners. It's not gonna trash your game but it makes things tricky. Multiplayer isn't working too well either. That's a total bummer cuz it means you're stuck racing against the computer rather than against other people. If you can get it working you're in luck.

Once you're on the site hit the "Downloads" link on the left side of the page, choose "Demo" and then click on the first "Download Now" button. It's a 30 MB download so go for a quick walk or watch a TV show while it downloads.

I think that all games that are avaliable to play on Playstation etc should be avaliable to play on the computer as well.
