Digimon Digital Card Battle :: PlayStation Game Review

Oh my! The Digiverse is invading your Playstation! This game brings home the action, strategy and digital monsters from the popular card game. Is it digi-tastic or is it a digi-disaster?

The digimon world is full of ferocious digital monsters and the people who train them to battle. It's up to you to pick the fiercest digimon and take it from town to town battling in the card arenas. Winning earns you extra cards and bonus powers as you battle your way to the top.

Battling your digimon in Digimon Digital Card Battle is almost exactly like playing the card game. The biggest difference is that you get a cool animated shot of your digimon scrappin' it up with the other guy. The battles are totally simple, a little too simple. Once you figure out the rules, which should take all of five minutes, it's pretty easy to win battles against the computer. Even then you can still end up losing because of a random card draw. It's easy to learn to play, but even a digi-master can get her butt kicked if the wrong card comes up.

The graphics are decent. The cities look cool, your digimon look just like the TV show and the 3D battles are pretty sweet. The 3D bits can get repetitive though so you might want to turn 'em off after a while.

The sounds are ok. Nothing kooky or weird just basic tunes to keep you moving so your butt doesn't fall asleep while you play.

How Hard Is The Game?

  • It's totally simple to learn and win.

Thumbs Up:

  • Easy to learn.

Thumbs Down:

  • Short game.
  • So easy you don't need your brain.

System:

  • Playstation
