Fashion Police :: 2002 Teen Choice Awards

Dec 27, 2006

The best part about awards shows isn't who's nominated or who wins - it's what they wear! The Teen Choice Awards are no exception. The show was full of hip, young artists and actors who - win or lose - wanna look good. So who deserved a standing O for style and who shoulda been arrested by the fashion police? Take a look at the options...

Destiny's Child

This bootylicious trio is well known for their fashion statements. Lead singer Beyonce Knowles' mom, Tina Knowles, is their seamstress and usually makes all their outfits herself. This time around Tina went for demin. The girls had on a mix of jeans and vibrant yellow crochet tops. When asked about the outfits, Michelle Williams said "Well, we're here at the Teen Choice Awards and we wanted to be a little relaxed."

Britney Spears

Brit dressed down this year but that doesn't mean covering up. She wore a mix of jean and cotton with hair extensions. Maybe Britney's into jeans now because she's starting her own jean line. BJ Jeans, which stands for Britney Jean, is in the works right now. Britney's best accessory at this awards show had to be her boyfriend Justin who she kept attached to her arm or lips most of the evening. Can ya blame her?

*NSYNC

The guys each sported their own signature style, like always. Justin was in a military inspired outfit, that matched his "army-recruit" buzz cut. And it looks like JC is taking over as the King of Fro. His hair is noticeably curlier than when he wore it short. I don't know about you, but I'm not complaining! Chris wore his ghetto goggles and Joey looked relaxed and rested after his stint in the hospital for the flu.

Nick and Aaron Carter

These two performed together on television for the first time at the Teen Choice Awards, but I don't know if anybody caught it. Most people were probably blinded by their tacky, mismatched outfits. Nick wore what can only be described as a gypsy pirate ensemble and Aaron's outfit... well, Aaron's outfit was indescribable (and not in that good first kiss sorta way.) In the press room, the brothers admitted that they hadn't used a stylist and had decided to throw something together themselves. Next time, Carter boys, use the stylist. Please.
