New Sports Jerseys

Dec 27, 2006

Some sports teams change their jerseys more times than Anna Kournikova changes athlete boyfriends while other teams have stuck with the same colors and logos for years. Here's a look at some of the new sports duds coming out for the 2001 fall season.

The Detroit Pistons have decided to ditch the hideous teal, black, yellow and red jerseys they've had since the 1996-97 season. Instead they'll go back to their original red, white and blue colors which were made famous by Isiah Thomas, Dennis Rodman and the rest of Detroit's Bad Boys who won back to back NBA title in 1989 and 1990. The Seattle Supersonics will also have new uniforms this year. They'll be unveiling a new logo and new colors on August 25th. Look for them to keep the green but they'll likely ditch the yellow and lose the space needle.

Manchester United is celebrating its 100th season with new reversible jerseys. The new duds are gold and silver and will be used as an alternate for the team's usual red colors. The jerseys were designed by a 17 year-old Manchester United fan and are made by Umbro. The new jerseys cost about $60 US. Click on the link below to get one for yourself.

No NHL teams are making any uniform changes this year but look for new Olympic team jerseys to come out sometime in November, 2001. They'll be the jerseys worn by Brett Hull, Eric Lindros, Jaromir Jagr and other NHL superstars playing for their countries in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in February.
