Mixman's DM2 (pronounced DM squared) Digital Music Mixer isn't a toy. It's a lean, mean, mixing machine that brings infinite mixing possibilities to your fingertips. The DM2 Digital Music Mixer allows you to make your very own electronica mixes with ease. Be your own DJ and make mixes to burn to CD, to send to friends or even upload on Mixman Radio for the world to hear.

The DM2 Mixer combines software with a plug-in double turntable-like device (mixing studio) for hands-on mixing, scratching and warping. All ya need to do is install the software, plug the turntable device into a USB port on your computer and you're good to go. A video demo walks you through the motions in a simple step-by-step process showing you how to make a mix, what each button/switch does and how to save or upload your mixes.

Choose from a number of audio tracks of different styles of music like drum & bass, house, techno, hip-hop, trance and others. The mixing studio has two mock turntables, each with 16 track buttons that allow you to add different sound samples from the audio track. You can lock a track button and the sound sample will loop, or just press it if you only want the sound to play for a second.

Each "turntable" also has a scratch ring to add scratch noises to the mix. Like a real set of turntables the studio is complete with a crossfader to switch volumes between the left and right sides. A mini joystick control, the Warp FX, lets you warp one of three sounds by moving the joystick around. You can get some really freaky "space" noises out of this gizmo. You can also add your own voice or sound samples by simply hitting the record button (using a microphone or other input device) or choose from 30 Mixman Singles of some of your favorite grooves.

The DM2 Digital Music Mixer is seriously one of the coolest music gadgets I have ever tinkered with. It's possible to create amazing club mixes just like professional DJs do. It's easy, it's affordable and it's hours of creative fun. A real set of turntables can cost thousands of dollars but the DM2 is only about $100 US ($150 CDN). Still think that's a little steep? Keep your homepage set to Kidzworld cuz we'll be giving some away soon!
