Gary thinks that golf is about as interesting as watching paint dry. What it really needs is zombies, exploding balls and a chance to blow stuff up. That's where Microsoft's Links Extreme comes in - it's

golf gone mad!

Here are the basics: the courses have nine or 18 holes and you walk around the courses trying to score under par, but that's where the normal golf rules end. There are zombies shuffling along the beaches of Mojo Bay and bombers zooming overhead in Dimension X. You can step up to the tee with a rocket ball for extra distance, a ghost ball that'll drive straight through trees or you can even slip your opponent a prank ball that'll mess their game up by hanging a left in midair and turfing into the trees. If that's not good enough, there are lots of other strange golf balls.

Off the greens, you can hit the demolition range for some destructo-golf madness and blast as many targets as you can with explosive golf balls, before heading back to the clubhouse for a cool drink.

Links Extreme is golf with a wacky twist. The problem is that it's only one and a half courses long so it runs out of cool stuff way too soon. Check out the official site and score the demo by clicking the yellow "Downloads" link to the left, then clicking on the "Links Extreme Trial Version" link. Install it and play away!
