Author: Mark Crilley

Akiko's last adventure in Akiko on the Planet Smoo had her facing pirates, monsters and lots of adventures. Things don't let up for the courageous nine year-old Earth girl as she and her friends Spuckler Boach, Mr. Beeba, Poog and Gax sail to the Sprubly Islands.

Before she knows what's happening Akiko's flying boat has been sunk by a deadly Skugbit storm, she's been swallowed by a giant water snake and she's stranded on an island full of creepy creatures. If she's going to rescue Prince Froptoppit she'll need help. Will Queen Pwip help her? Or will the queen's army capture Akiko and her friends? Will she ever find her way through the Sprubly Islands?

Akiko's adventures are great fun. She's always running into new people, strange critters and out of this world situations. The best part about the story is Mark Crilley's artwork. He writes the stories and does the drawings of Akiko and her friends. Whenever something really cool is happening in the story he puts in a picture to show you what's going on. Whether it's Spuckler and Beeba shouting at each other or a picture of a strange new creature, it really brings the planet of Smoo and the Sprubly Islands to life.
