Electronic Arts is firing a third of their brainiacs. Big Bill wants to see your best zoo creation, Jedi are heading into space and one of the best games ever is heading to the big screen.

1Bad news for video game brainiacs. If you're working for Electronic Arts you're not gonna have as many pals at work. The big company just sent a big chunk of its hard-working people packing. About 200 of the people behind SSX, NHL 2001 and The Sims are gonna be looking for work this Christmas. Looks like someone made it onto Santa's naughty list this year.

1Tony Hawk's buddies at Activision are teaming up with Big Bill and the Xbox to distribute the black beast of a console in Germany. Think they'll use skateboarders to deliver the box door-to-door? Find out when it's released on March 14, 2002.

1If you haven't heard of Half-Life you need to get a life. It's a first-person shooter, like Quake, that came out a few years back and rocked everyone's world. It earned a pile of awards only slightly smaller than Mount Everest and more gamers are hooked on it than on Everquest. It appeared on TV in the movie Max Knight: Ultra Spy and now it's heading to the big screen. The guys behind the game are looking for YOU to tell them what you want to see. Email them at movie@valvesoftware.com and fill them in.

1Do you have what it takes to run a zoo? Microsoft will give ya $20,000 if you've got the goods - or rather, the critters. They're putting together a big contest with their new game, Zoo Tycoon, to see who has what it takes. If you want your share of the prize money, check out the official site for the 411 on how to enter.

1Lucasarts is taking the force into space with its new game Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter for the Playstation 2. It's the sequel to Star Wars: Starfighter and it'll let you pull funky force maneuvers in combat to slam the bad guys and save the day. It's also the first game to take place after the flick Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.

Whoa! What a wack of news! Do you have ?
