2008 Halloween Costume Ideas

The Joker
Halloween is right around the dark and scary corner! If you're stumped on what to dress up as this year, then check out Kidzworld's list of cool and creepy Halloween costumes!
The Joker
The creepiest Halloween costume of the year is definitely the Joker from
The Dark Knight. You're going to need a
purple suit and tie, as well as a green vest, so head to your local
thrift store for some cheap finds. Now comes the fun part - messily apply
white paint to your face, smear
red lipstick over and around your lips, extending it halfway up your cheeks, and gel down your hair so that it's
greasy. Remember, the Joker is a really bad dude, so don't be too friendly to anyone you run into. And if you're going to smile, make sure it's a
totally evil grin! If you'd rather be the good guy, then dress up as
Batman by tying a black cape around your neck. On second thought, that could look a little lame, so go pick up a real
Batman costume at the mall.
The Cast of Gossip Girl
Those of you who want a costume that's more trendy and less scary can dress up as
Serena,
Blair,
Chuck, or one of the other Upper East Siders! You can even go as the whole cast of Gossip Girl if you have a big group of friends. Those of you who go to private school won't have a problem finding something to wear, but if you don't already have a
school uniform, then all you'll need is a
blazer, white shirt and either a plaid miniskirt or a pair of pants. However, you're going to have to go all out on the accessories. Think
headbands with pretty bows,
scarves, colorful socks or tights,
ties, cufflinks, suspenders, and of course, a pair of killer shoes! For more Gossip Girl costume tips, check out the fashions of the
girls and
guys right here.
The Next President of the United States
Maybe you're too young to vote, but you can still
show your support for the upcoming
US presidential election by dressing up as the candidate of your choice! An easy way to dress up as
Barack Obama or
John McCain is to wear either a black suit or a
presidential election tee such as "Barack the Vote" or "I'm a McCainiac" and then throw on a black or white wig. Or, you can make like Tina Fey and dress up as
Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate (don't forget to carry a
hockey stick to help represent all those hockey moms out there!). Since there's a few days left until the election, you'll be able to influence some undecided voters while you're
trick-or-treating!
