Dive into the newest installment of Disneys classic under the sea mermaid adventure with Ariel and her daughter, Melody!

Dive into the newest installment of Disney’s classic under the sea adventure! Little Mermaid 2: Return To The Sea reunites all your favourite characters from the first movie and introduces some new ones. Ariel’s daughter, Melody, has never known life in the sea because Ariel and Eric must keep her mermaid heritage a secret or risk losing her to the evil sea witch, Morgana.

A Special Gift

When Melody was just a baby, King Triton gave her a shell locket so she would never forget that part of her belongs to the sea, but while he was bestowing the gift, Ursula’s evil sister Morgana appeared and wrapped her evil tentacles around Ariel’s defenseless daughter.

Forbidden Waters

Luckily, King Triton is able to rescue Melody and the sea witch goes into hiding, but Ariel must keep her daughter on land or risk losing her again. Ariel forbids her daughter to enter the sea and King Triton drops the shell locket into the sea so that Melody will never know about Atlantica or mer-people.

When she gets older, Melody can’t resist sneaking past the seawall to swim in the open water. It’s there that she rediscovers the shell locket and begins her quest to find out where she comes from. Morgana has been waiting for her chance—she tricks Melody into stealing King Triton’s powerful trident so she can succeed where her sister, Ursula, failed and gain total domination of the seas.

DVD Extras

The Special Edition DVD provides lots of extras including a deleted song sung by Morgana called Gonna Get My Wish and an old Silly Symphony cartoon called “Merbabies” that predates even the first Little Mermaid—Disney animators clearly derived a lot of visual inspiration from this oldie but goodie. The Games and Activities section also includes the Underwater Mer-venture Challenge, Little Mermaid trivia, a DVD Storybook and the What Am I? game.
