Space Vacation

A Russian rocket has blasted off to the International Space Station with an American billionaire on board.

Charles Simonyi is the first space tourist to be blasted into orbit for a second time, and he's paid nearly $35 million for the privilege.

During his 13-day mission, he'll help with research projects and be taking part in live broadcasts with schools.

He's traveling with two astronauts who'll also be part of the new six-man crew aboard the space station.

Until now, only three astronauts have lived on the station at any one time. Doubling the number means they'll be able to do more scientific research, but it also means there won't be any more space tourists for a while as there's less room for visitors.
