Mr. Troop Mom is coming out on DVD and Blu-ray on June 23, 2009.

If you've ever seen 1989's Troop Beverly Hills you'll love the "sort of" remake of this classic in the as-seen on-Nickelodeon movie Mr. Troop Mom, which is coming out on DVD and Blu-ray on June 23, 2009.

The Story

Mr. Troop Mom has all the basic qualities found in any great kids' flick: a mean girl, parents who don't understand, musical performances and food fights. This recipe may sound like old news, but something about this combo of ingredients always makes a good movie. Other films Mr. Troop Mom shares these ingredients with include High School Musical, Spectacular and Camp Rock - so we're pretty sure you'll love this DVD. In fact, we think you'll love Mr. Troop Mom better than the rest!

George Lopez stars as Eddie, father of Naomi (Daniela Bobadilla), who's a single parent struggling to be a good father and excellent lawyer - so sometimes he doesn't have enough time for his daughter. When Naomi's camp's troop leader has a baby, Eddie finds himself as Mr. Troop Mom, taking his daughter and her three friends (Pyper De Marsh, April Telek and Elizabeth Thai) to a camp where they must defeat Naomi’s archenemy, Skyler (Jianna Ballard). Jane Lynch also stars as Ms. Hulka, the crazy and strict camp director and Julia Anderson stars as a camp counselor.

The Cast

George Lopez is an amazing actor. He’s very comical, but also provides a deeper tone when he deals with his character’s relationship with his daughter. The rest of the cast is good. All the kids were great at playing their roles, even though some of them haven't been acting for that long. Naked Brothers Band members Nat and Alex Wolff play a song in the movie, and they contribute to what turns out to be a pretty good soundtrack.

The Features

Tons of special features come with this DVD:

  • Additional scenes
  • George Lopez Goes to Camp
  • Naomi's Journal: About working with George Lopez
  • Rockin' The Bonfire with the Naked Brothers Band
  • Killer Bees Vs. Wasps: A fierce competition between the girl campers

  • Mr. Troop Mom DVD Rating: 4

There was a long silence.I claim them all,' said the Savage at last.Mustapha Mond shrugged his shoulders. 'You're welcome,' he said.”  I freaking LOVE Brave New World!
