Join up with a friend or family member and play as your favourite characters to re-live moments of the popular Disney and Pixar movie!

UP is a game based on the Disney and Pixar movie of the same name. In the movie, a retired balloon salesman named Carl Fredricksen decides to fulfill his late wife's dream of taking their house to the top of Paradise Falls in South America. Along the way, he is joined by Kevin the bird, Russell the young Wilderness Explorer, and Dug the Dog.

The Unwritten Adventures

The video game version of UP, however, does not give much of the story from the movie. It is assumed that you have watched and understood the movie. The game starts in the middle of an action packed biplane fight where you play as Dug the dog and must shoot down the other dogs.

After the short mini-game, you play as Carl and Russell and begin to make your trek across the jungle floor in a semi puzzle/platformer that makes up the main game. Here, you will face dangerous animals and perform cool tricks that were not seen in the movie.

As you work your way to the end of each level, you can collect many Wilderness Explorer badges to earn a Quest Card. These cards outline things that you need to collect, such as bugs and relics, to unlock bonus features in the game.

Thumbs Down or Thumbs UP?

The game is pretty fun when played with a friend or family member as you can each take control of Carl and Russell and work together. The voice acting in the game is very nice, but the graphics are no where near movie quality. The controls and camera movement can get annoying sometimes and the game has a few small glitches, but is still enjoyable overall.

If you and someone you know are a big fan of the movie, then this game would definitely provide a few hours of fun.
