Earth is a brand-new full-length documentary from DisneyNature that takes a look at three animal families living across the globe. It shows the hardships they face in trying to survive. Watch how polar bears, elephants and whales live, love and survive against certain odds. The film is narrated by James Earl Jones.

We loved this film – it’s educational AND entertaining at the same time – trust us, you won’t be bored sitting through the stories of these amazing animal families! The movie actually shares parts of nature’s beauty that most of us will never have a chance to see for ourselves in person, which is really cool. At the same time (also really cool), it encourages us all to be more aware and take better care of our environment.

Humpback Whale Family

DisneyNature's Earth

The whales in the film have to be very aware of a potential attack by a great white shark as they migrate from the tropics to Antarctica in search of krill (the food whales] eat). Though the shark never attacks them, the movie does show footage of a great white jumping 32 feet into the air – scary!

African Elephant Family

DisneyNature's Earth

The elephants have to cross a dry, arid desert in order to reach drinking water in the Okavango delta, Africa. The baby and its mother manage to dodge the hungry jaws of a pride of lions. At several points during their journey the little baby elephant is blinded by dust storms and weakened from lack of food. And even though this family makes it this time, the camera shots of the shrinking delta is a warning that they may not be so lucky in the future.

Polar Bear Family

DisneyNature's Earth

The polar bears cubs couldn't be cuter as they emerge from their den to play in freshly fallen snow. But miles away their father struggles to find food. Polar bears use ocean ice as hunting platforms to snag seals. But as climate change melts ice faster, it is becoming harder and harder for the bears to find food.

Disneynature
