Becoming a Disney Mascot
Do you love the magic of Disney World or Disneyland? Are you looking for a summer job? Then why not work as a mascot at one of these Disney locations?
Becoming a Mascot
You must audition to become a Disney mascot (a.k.a Character Performer). Disney runs auditions for singers, actors, dancers, musicians, stunt performers, bands, and of course Disney characters. For the audition, bring a recent headshot and resume, and prepare to act as at least one Disney character without speaking. For more information on auditions, check the Disney website.
Day in the Life
As a mascot, you’ll have to arrive at the Disney park before it opens to change into your costume. You’ll usually work for about eight hours, roaming the park, taking pictures with visitors, signing autographs, and performing other occasional duties like dancing or participating in parades and shows.
Things to Remember
Salary
