Hockey Superstar 2009-10: Sidney Crosby

Current Team: Pittsburgh Penguins
First NHL Team: Pittsburgh Penguins
Position: Center
Birthdate: Aug. 7, 1987
Birthplace: Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia

In school they teach you the importance of being able to play well with others. In hockey it can be a different story, especially when it comes to Sidney Crosby. Expected at the start of last season to be the Pittsburgh Penguins’ big offensive star, Sid struggled to find wingers he could click with.

There just didn’t seem to be anyone who could bring out the best of Sideny’s amazing playmaking ability. Still, showing class, the hockey center tried to stay out of controversy as best he could, refusing to dwell on his on-ice frustrations.

Sidney Crosby

This season it’ll be interesting to watch Sidney and his teammates defend their 2008-2009 championship. Will the coaching staff manage to find a winger who can create magic in the rink with Sidney? Philly fans sure hope so – it could mean a second Stanley Cup for their city.

Hockey Highlights

Sidney is the youngest player in NHL history to hit the 100 and 200 career-point marks.
