Dear Dish-It: Is He Nervous Or Does He Hate Me?
Dear Dish-It,
I’m going out with this guy (my friend even asked him if he was still going out with me and he says he is). He asked me to meet him at lunch but then he wanted me to go over to him and when I didn’t he wouldn’t come over to me, either. Then I saw him on the other side of the school and after we said hi my friend said to give him a hug so I was about to but then he said bye and ran off. Does this mean he’s nervous or he doesn’t want to go out with me anymore?

Dear Megan,
It sounds like this guy still likes you and wants to go out with you but he’s really nervous around you. Maybe he’s even just naturally shy. But don’t trust my opinion – you should just ask him what he thinks and how he feels about you. Otherwise, does it really count as going out?
The other thing I would recommend is to stop involving your friend in your relationships with this guy or any other guy you date in the future. It could be that he’s all nervous because there are other people always around you and he just needs to be with you alone in order to feel comfortable.
