Star Wars :: Trading Card Game Review

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones dropped on May 16, 2002 but the Star Wars Trading Card Game (TCG) was in a store near you almost a month earlier! The Star Wars TCG lets you collect Jedi, aliens, bounty hunters, starships and wicked Star Wars events from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and battle your friends with them.

The Star Wars TCG is super easy to learn. There's even a mat with directions to get you started. You build your troops, pick your battles, play cards, roll dice and count damage. Then it's on to the next turn - the Star Wars TCG is fast, easy and the cards look great!

Each player makes a lightside and a darkside Star Wars TCG deck and battles against other players with their cards. You roll dice to cause damage, spend Force points for special moves and build troops to battle in the Star Wars universe.

The coolest thing about the Star Wars TCG is that it made the Jedi easy to get. With some card games cool characters are really rare, which is a total pain. The common Jedi in the Star Wars TCG are weaker but you can still play with them.

The biggest problem is that the Star Wars TCG is too simple. With only 180 different collectible cards there aren't a lot of options. It's also really random - you roll dice for combat and building points. So even a Star Wars TCG player who's all that, can get stomped by a couple of bad rolls.

The Star Wars TCG will be a really cool game once it gets more cards and more battle options to really spice things up.

Thumbs Up:

  • Sweet Episode II images on the cards!
  • You'll always be able to use the Jedi characters.
  • Thumbs Down:

  • Really random - you need luck to win.
  • Way too basic, it needs more cool stuff.
  • Not enough cards in the first set.

  • Rating:

One day, an evil witch took over a city. She used her iron staff to put a curse over the city, which would cause all of the residents to fall into a deep sleep. She let five teenagers live and explained to them in a dream that they couldn't leave the city unless they woke everyone up. How to wake everyone up? Complete a deadly jigsaw puzzle that required logic, skill, and chance. After completely the jigsaw, they must go through a deathly room and complete the puzzles before the room fills up with acid. The witch replaced one body part on the five teenagers with iron . A spirit haunted the jigsaw puzzle, and if you accidently put a wrong piece the spirit would come out and your body would automatically be  absorbing  it into your soul, allowing it possess you and kill you. Now, the five teenagers must complete the puzzles in order to leave the city and wake up it's residents.  My words: Blood Witch Magic Glass

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful queen who lived in a marble palace. She was beloved by her subjects, but her talent in magic and her powerful army led all other kingdoms to fear her greatly. One of the bolder rival kingdoms sent an assassin to infiltrate her court, taking role as a cup bearer. When the assassin had finally gained the queen's trust, he slipped poison into her vanilla ice cream one day, and she immediately fell into a coma. As she was taking her last breaths, the royal healer encased the queen in ice to save her life, and locked her away to protect her from anyone else who might wish her harm. Now, the daughter of an elderly stained- glass window maker, who has found herself gifted with prophecy, has discovered the cure for the deadly poison in her dreams. She must now journey across the world to retrieve the rare plant and save the queen's life before it is too late. (That was fun.) Absorbing Iron Spirit Jigsaw
