Nickelodeons Rocket Power is a great CD with three tunes from new Jive artists Bowling for Soup, Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger.

Nick's CD ROCKET POWER is a great little (only five tracks) disc to strap to your melon while you're grabbin' some rare air. This ska/punky stuff has been totally done to the teeth by Green Day, No Doubt and Blink-182 but it's always cool to hear somebody else's take on it. The three cuts from Jive/Zomba bands (Goldfinger, Bowling for Soup and Reel Big Fish) are catchy. Highlight: 99 Red Balloons by Goldfinger - it's a totally decent new and improved on Nena's 99 Luft (that's German, Dexter) Balloons from the '80s. Area-7 (Individuality) is a former cover band that got tired of playing other people's tunes, so they started playing their own but to me it still sounds like other peep's tunage.

If you like what you hear on Nickelodeon's ROCKET POWER, and you should, please take a walk on the wild side (yes, your mom and dad had wild sides) and give a big listen to The Clash, Madness, The Specials, The Buzzcocks and Mark (ROCKET POWER/Rugrats themes) Mothersbaughs. Cuz before there was Chucky, there was Devo.
