Imagine That: DVD :: Review & Video

Jul 10, 2018

What can we say that hasn’t been said already in our review of Eddie Murphy’s latest flick, Imagine That? The DVD, which was released October 6, 2009, tells the story of Evan Danielson (played by Eddie), a financial analyst who’s so into his job his wife recently left him, taking their daughter, Olivia (played by adorable child actress Yara Shahadi) with her. When Olivia comes to stay with Evan for a week she brings along her imaginary friends, who give her investment tips that she passes on to her dad to help him land a promotion at work.

Family Fun

Basically this is a an off-the-wall family comedy that may start out a bit slow but, as soon as it picks up some speed gets pretty good. Another good thing is it’s the kind of movie you can take the whole family to – adults, teens, tweens, kids and everyone in-between will get a kick out of Eddie Murphy’s latest performance. And we’re not really giving too much away by telling you that there’s a happy ending to the story in the film – we figured your probably already knew that anyway. But even though it flows and ends the way you would expect, there’s something different – something quirky – about this movie. Plus, be on the lookout for cool cameos from Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets and his teammate Allen Iverson.
