Alvin and the Chipmunks, Safecracker, and Dawn of Heroes

Nov 28, 2009

Keep up-to-date with all the latest video game releases! Kidzworld has all the latest games to keep watch for. This week, we preview Alvin and the Chipmunks, Safecracker, and Dawn of Heroes!

Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

You can play with up to three friends in this, the DS version of the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. Keep the tempo to the soundtrack as either the main chipmunks we all know or the all-new Chipettes, Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor. In 11 different concert locations, you can vie to break the attendance records and unlock Expert Mode. Also, Jukebox Mode will let you listen to the soundtrack while watching some music videos, without having to work at keeping the beat.

Safecracker

You've been hired by the family of a recently deceased (and fairly eccentric) billionaire, who has hidden his will and the deed to his estate in a safe somewhere in his mansion. No biggie, right? But there's not just one safe to crack... There are 35, and any one of them could have that deed, and therefore your paycheck. Fans of Professor Layton or Return to Mysterious Island should love this DS game that will keep them thinking.

Dawn of Heroes

Dawn of Heroes is a turn-based strategy game for the DS with a couple of twists. First of all, the game features an original storyline with branching paths and lots of side quests to keep your attention. Second, the game actually uses some sweet 3D graphics to show everything off. Third, there's a "fair play rule" that prevents both you and your enemies from suddenly getting ganged up on. Any character can only get hit by two opponents in a single round, unless they're the last person remaining.
