The Spy Next Door :: Exclusive Video Clip

Check out an exclusive clip from The Spy Next Door! Be the first to purchase the DVD/Blu-ray combo pack, in stores May 18th.

In true Jackie Chan fashion, The Spy Next Door delivers incredible stunts, fast action suspense and hearty family entertainment. When Bob Ho is called to babysit his neighbor’s unruly children, they accidentally blow his cover as a spy by downloading secret codes on his computer. Suddenly Bob has to kick into super agent mode and take the kids on an action-packed adventure that turns suburbia upside down. Bob fights off assassins and arch villains, narrowly escapes traps and outsmarts double-agents while somehow managing to keep the kids out of harm’s way. The film is “High-flying family fun” (movieweb.com) and “Zany action for the whole family” (nycmovieguru.com).

The heart of the film is delivered by Jackie Chan when he tells his girlfriend’s teenage daughter that family is what you make – who you love and who loves you – not just the blood that runs in your veins. It’s good advice and she grows to accept him as a potential step-father. It also helps her embrace her own family after feeling she didn’t belong.

Watching Bob trying to care for three unruly kids is truly humorous. The emotional arc of the kids letting down their defenses and allow a new man into their lives is something many kids can relate to, whether it's happened to them or they have seen friends experience similar things.

The film is certainly derivative of other James Bond-for-kids type movies such as Spy Kids but doesn't really add anything original or memorable. The true appeal of this film is Jackie Chan, who gracefully moves between his two identities – the super square pen salesman who lives next door, and the super cool and capable Chinese spy working with the CIA. Plus, he's funny. That surprised us.

This KIDS FIRST!-endorsed action-comedy which also received the Dove Foundation Seal of Approval, contains bonus features the whole family will enjoy – including a blooper reel and two fun featurettes that bring audiences up-close and personal with the cast.

BLU-RAY COMBO PACK/DVD SPECIAL FEATURES
  • “Jackie Chan: Stunt Master and Mentor” featurette
  • “Adventures in Acting with the Kids from The Spy Next Door” featurette
  • Blooper reel

The Spy Next Door will be available May 18th on Blu-ray Combo pack for the suggested retail price of $39.99 or on DVD for $29.95.

Alright let me start out by saying that, I do not think you should be forced to like anime. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions out what they watch. But their is some bogus reason to why people say they hate it. 1. "Anime is For Kids" - Alright we all know this isn't true. Sure some are directed towards kids but ones like Tokyo Ghoul, Attack On Titan, Boku no Pico, and several others that would definitely change people's mind. 2. "Anime is a bad influence" - And Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Walking Dead arent?  3. "Anime has very inappropriate messages to them that are harmful to children and adults" - Doesnt everything have their little "parodies" of the original that may have a rating of Triple X? If its out there, there is a "parody" of it. Not just anime.
