Celebrity Lookalikes: Joshua James And Jared Leto

Aug 27, 2020

Joshua James and Jared Leto have more in common than the first letter of their names. Check em out on Kidzworld’s Celebrity Lookalikes!

Joshua and Jared could be brothers! Both guys are soulful rockers with piercing blue eyes who like keeping their dark hair long and favor plaid, button-down shirts. Jared sings, plays guitar and writes the music for his band, 30 Seconds to Mars. Joshua—a solo artist—plays guitar, drums, keyboards, glockenspiel, bass, banjo, mandolin and accordion!

Music + Movies

Joshua might be the more accomplished musician, but Jared balances his music with a successful movie career. In fact, Jared originally moved to L.A. to pursue a music career, but got offered the role of Jordan Catalano in My So-Called Life—a short-lived TV series that catapulted him to fame.

Commerical And Critical Success

Joshua made a lot of Best Of lists for 2009 with his latest album, Build Me This, but he still manages to fly under the radar. Jared, on the other hand, made a huge commercial splash with the new 30 Seconds to Mars album, This Is War. The lead single, Kings and Queens topped the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. Did you know that Jared directed the music video under the pseudonym, Bartholomew Cubbins?

Helping Haiti

Jared is helping raise money for the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti. He and his family lived in Haiti when he was 12 years old. Jared has said that “was a magical time. Could you imagine being a kid in such an exotic place? It was eye opening. [The people] have such a strong spirit and a wonderful culture and joy even in the midst of all the struggles they have gone through. If I thought that running down to Haiti tomorrow would be the best course of action, I would certainly do that. But the important thing right now is cash…this is going to be a long journey and a very long recovery process. This isn’t something that’s going to be fixed overnight.”
