The popular online game finally comes to your DS! Will playing it on the go still be as fun as before or feel more like a job?

Ragnarok Online is a neat online RPG game where you can meet up with your friends, or make new ones, and quest together to defeat enemies, level up, and collect wonderful treasure. Ragnarok DS brings all that to the DS so that you can play when you on the go and away from your keyboard.

GTG, On the Go

Playing on the Nintendo DS is not that much different than on the PC, since you can use the touch screen just like you would with a mouse. The basic game is the same, you tap where you want your character to go and tap on enemies that you want to fight.

To do your attacks, you need to draw and trace certain shapes over an area. For example, to do a Swordman's Bash, you draw a line on an enemy. Remembering all these attacks takes some effort, but it's not too hard.

Not all the jobs from Ragnarok are available in the DS game. Missing are Crusader, Rogue, Monk, Alchemist, Sage, Dancer/Bard, and Soul Linker. However, there are two completely new classes in the game: Shaman and Dark Knight, which are fun and interesting to use.

AFK and Offline

The DS version of Ragnarok is mostly offline, unlike the PC game. You play through a story and computer characters will join you along the way. You can control the computer a little bit during fights and change their equipment too.

You can play on WiFi with friends for the 50 level tower, which opens up later on in the game. The tower gets harder as you go on and having good friends come along instead of computer characters can help a lot.

Overall, Ragnarok DS is as good as the PC version. Old fans will find new things to do in the game and new players will get a great introduction to a popular game.
