Football is one of the most complex sports and choosing a Position to play is tough. There are quite a few different Positions on the Football Team, but you can break them into three or four groups to help make it easier.

The Leaders

If you choose to be a Quarterback, you have to be the Leader of the team. You will responsible for almost all the Offensive Success of a team. You will get the Ball every play, get to Run with the ball, make Passes, Score points, and everyone on the other team will want to Annihilate you. Lots of pressure falls on this position, but if you are a great All-Around-Athlete, you might like it!

Speed & Agility

If you are a Fast Runner, you might want to try Running Back or Wide Receiver. These Positions are lots of fun. You basically get the Ball and try to Run away from everyone. These positions Score a lot of Touchdowns too, so you might also think about practicing your Touchdown Dance!

Fearless

On Defense, you got to be Tough and want to be Physical. All Defensive Positions require aggressive play, so you can’t be shy. Free Safety and Middle Linebacker are the leaders of the defensive side. They are almost in on every Tackle, so get ready for lots of bruises.

Solid Rocks

Linemen on the Defensive or Offensive side are usually large people. If you like to play Tug-Of-War, or you are a good Wrestler, these Positions might be for you. But get ready to bulk up because the bigger you are, the easier it gets to play the Position.

Well, if that didn’t help you, another easy way to choose a position is to watch some Football and pick a Position that one of your Favorite players plays. The CFL and the NFL are two professional leagues that have great coverage on television and even online.
