Taylor has been acting since she was 3-years-old—her first gig was a Shake ‘N’ Bake commercial! Since then she’s studied acting in NYC at the Professional Performing Acts High School and racked up a long resume of movie roles.
Cindy Lou And Gossip Girl Too
Her big break came in 2000 when she landed the role of Cindy Lou Who in the Jim Carey remake of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. After, Taylor acted in the movie adaptation of Underdog, then played the President’s daughter, Alexandra in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams. But Taylor’s biggest role came in 2007 when she was asked to play Jenny Humphrey aka Little J on CW’s Gossip Girl.
Jenny Humphrey has gone from insecure wallflower to the Queen Bee of Constance in only 3 seasons. Lately the Upper East Side It Girl has fallen in with a bad crowd and she’s dealing drugs on the side. Hopefully her friend Eric can steer her back in the right direction.
Pretty Reckless
Taylor seems to be taking cues from her character because she’s become a bit of a bad girl herself—at least on stage. Taylor is now fronting the band, Pretty Reckless, whose sound she says is heavily influenced by early ‘90s grunge bands like Nirvana. Pretty Reckless has already signed to Interscope records and the band’s released four studio songs including I Zombie, He Loves You, Blender and the newest single just released in December called Make Me Wanna Die. Pretty Reckless will be hitting the road with the 2010 Warped Tour and releasing their full-length debut later this year.
