NCAA Football 11 :: PS3 Game Review
Not just Madden Jr., NCAA Football 11 shows off some features that's sure to impress the pros. PS3 Game Review
Whether you are a fan of college football does not make that much of a difference here. NCAA Football 11 overall is a great game that is sure to impress any sports gamer. Additionally, its brilliant online features is guaranteed to give you endless hours of addicting fun, making it well worth the investment.
Carrying the ball is now controlled by the two analog sticks, allowing you to control how the running back's body sways. Also, techniques like juking and high stepping are mapped to the right analog stick. Overall, the new controls makes the running game more realistic and exciting. For passing, you will be happy to know that sideline catches are now possible and reliable. The computer controlled receivers even try to drag their feet to stay in!
There is a strong ESPN tie-in that really makes it feel like you are watching a TV broadcast. Speaking of tie-ins, the Online Dynasty mode has got to be the coolest thing going for NCAA 11. You can access the game's special website on your computer or mobile to research and recruit players for your team, making the whole process seem even more real.
There is still room for improvement, however. Fans of the previous game will notice that the game commentary and the Erin Andrews cutscenes are straight copies with nothing new added. Although injuries make for some interesting decision making, it seems that almost everyone gets injured too easily. Although the online play is incredible, if you are only sticking to the single player modes, you will be looking at a less worthwhile investment.
While the AI is much better than any previous football game, there are still some questionable moments. The graphics, however, is really good and the amount of decision making in Online Dynasty Mode really makes this game great fun for any football fan.
