Debby Ryan Bio

Aug 01, 2010

Birthdate:: May 13, 1993
Birthplace: Huntsville, Alabama

Debby Ryan made a name for herself as the charismatic Bailey Pickett in The Suite Life on Deck. Check out what’s new with Debby in her all-new Kidzworld bio!

Debby got her start performing in church choirs and theater groups before she started doing commercials for board games and the iDog Dance. Her first movie role was playing a teen in Barney: Let’s Go to the Firehouse. She played a more grown-up role alongside Keke Palmer in The Longshots. But Debby’s big break was landing a starring role on The Suite Life on Deck.

Being Bailey

Debby seems to have a lot in common with her character on The Suite Life on Deck. Both Debby and Bailey are smart, fun-loving girls with lots of moxy who hail from the South. But while Debby grew up in the big city of Huntsville, her character Bailey couldn’t wait to get out of small-town Kettlecorn, Kansas. She wanted out so badly that she dressed as a boy to sneak into Seven Seas High. Bailey stays and rooms with the spoiled socialite London Tipton who takes up more than her share of the space until Bailey tricks her with the myth of the “Sea Snark.” She fakes an attack and gets some breathing room for a while—but London is soon back to her fussy ways. Bailey keeps a map of the world and colors in the countries where London insults her!

16 Wishes

Debby recently starred in the hugely-popular Disney TV movie 16 Wishes. Debby plays Abby Jensen, a girl whose been planning her Sweet 16 since she was a little girl. She’s made a list of sixteen wishes she secretly dreams of coming true. One by one the dreams become reality—her crush admits to liking her, she gets back at her worst enemy, she even gets a car! But then her 9th wish comes true. Abby wished to be treated more like an adult, but instead she becomes one! Abby has to figure out how to reverse the wish before midnight or she’ll never get to go back to being a teen.

What’s Next?

Debby is set to star in What If… a Christian movie due out in August 2010 about a rich man who’s poor in spirit who gets another chance to marry his high school sweetheart. She’s also cultivating her love of music. She was set to headline the Terrific Teen Tour that also featured Mitchel Musso and Jasmine Richards, but the tour was canceled because of scheduling conflicts. Hopefully we get to hear Debby’s music soon!
