Glee: Season 2, Episode 1 :: Audition

Sep 21, 2010

Glee is back! In "Audition," Sue and Mr. Shue team up, Rachel sabotages a potential recruit and New Directions performs Empire State of Mind. Check out all the action in Kidzworld's recap of Glee Season 2 Episode1!

The first episode of the new season begins with super annoying blogger Jacob Ben Israel getting up in everyone's face. After New Directions made a name for themselves last year, everybody expects the worst this time around. Jacob gets the dirt on summer gossip—looks like Rachel and Finn are still dating, but Artie got dumped by Tina after she met a guy named Mike at camp!

Coach Biest

When the new football coach, Shannon Biest (yes, it’s pronounced Beast), threatens to steal funding away from Glee and the cheerleading squad, Mr. Shue teams up with Sue to take her down. They order 25 pizzas to football practice leaving Biest with the bill. But Sue goes too far (as usual) and Mr. Shue is left apologizing to the Biest.

New Kids On The Block

Mr. Shue rallies New Directions—they need to go from “a small rebel force to a giant wall of sound” if they want to make it to the nationals in New York this year. That means new members! And what better way to get new recruits than to perform outside the auditorium, in the middle of lunch! An awesome rendition of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys Empire State of Mind gets the attention of some new talent.

Sam And Sunshine

Finn overhears the new transfer football Sam Evans singing Every Rose Has Its Thorn in the shower and knows he’s got talent. Rachel gets so jealous of Filipino exchange student Sunshine Corazon’s outstanding vocals that she sends her the wrong directions to auditions. New Directions loses Sunshine to Vocal Adrenaline once they hear about her talent from an angry Sue.

Britney Spears guest stars next week! Stay tuned for more Glee!

“Instruction in world history in the so-called high schools is even today in a very sorry condition. Few teachers understand that the study of history can never be to learn historical dates and events by heart and recite them by rote; that what matters is not whether the child knows exactly when this battle or that was fought, when a general was born, or even when a monarch (usually a very insignificant one) came into the crown of his forefathers. No, by the living God, this is very unimportant. To 'learn' history means to seek and find the forces which are the causes leading to those effects which we subsequently perceive as historical events.”
