Kung Zhu :: Nintendo DS Game Review
The Zhu Zhu Pets are back and ready for action! But will guns and kung fu be enough to make this game a winner? Read our review and find out!
Kung Zhu hamsters are a different breed of Zhu Zhu Pets. These little furries are trained to fight the evil Ninja Warriors and protect Hamster City. In the Kung Zhu DS game, you can take control of your favourite Kung Zhu hamster and battle your way across several levels.
I Know Kung Zhu
You can choose any of your favourite Kung Zhu hamster right off the bat and play the whole game with them. You can also choose one of many cool armors to use with your hamster during the game. However, you will need to find and rescue the other hamsters in the game in order to continue playing through the story with other characters.
Each Kung Zhu hamster has slightly different stats and abilities. Some use swords to cut down enemies while others use guns and can shoot at foes from afar. The armor you choose to start out with also does slightly different things for your hamster when activated, changing their attacks and protecting them from different elements.
Zzz Zzz Pets
No matter which hamster and armor combination you go with, however, the game is not too difficult to play through. For the most part, you jump around and collect things in the levels, which are fairly simple in design. You don't even need to collect everything if you are not interested in 100% completion, but it's there if you want to try playing through levels several times. There aren't too many enemies around and most of them can be handled very easily with any attack.
Overall the game is not very exciting or interesting. Although you can unlock new armor and characters, there is no real significant difference between. However, if you are a Zhu Zhu Pet fan, you get a free Kung Zhu toy (Tull) with the game and the game itself plays perfectly fine, just boringly so.
