Glee: Season 2, Episode 10 :: A Very Glee Christmas

Dec 07, 2010

This week’s Christmas-themed Glee episode ("A Very Glee Christmas" (Season 2, Episode 10)) begins with the glee club singing carols around a tree decorated with ornaments and empty wrapped boxes (all of which have been stolen). Mr. Schu decides to teach the kids a lesson about helping others, and encourages the club to sing to different classes around school in order to raise money for other kids who need presents at Christmas.

Not surprisingly, the glee club’s popularity has not risen since their win at sectionals, and their fellow classmates are less than enthused to hear them sing during class time. In order to raise the money they need they decide to sing to the teachers instead.

Santa

Brittany is full of Christmas spirit, and reveals to Artie that she still believes in Santa. When the glee club visits Santa at the mall, she says the only thing she wants for Christmas is for Artie to walk. The rest of the club teams enlist the help of Coach Beiste to tell Brittany that Santa won’t be able to make Artie walk again. Brittany is crushed and her Christmas spirit is ruined. In the end, Artie is able to walk again for a short time with the help of some new technology, and the Christmas spirit is restored.

Christmas Kiss

Things are still rocky between Finn and Rachel since Finn found out that Rachel and Puck kissed. Rachel tries to win him back with a song, but Finn is not impressed. She tries again when the two go out Christmas tree shopping, and they sing a lovely duet of “Last Christmas” that ends with a kiss. Finn immediately gets angry and tells Rachel that they are officially broken up. But, by the end of the episode, they are once again exchanging longing looks.

Set List

The following songs were sung on this week’s episode of Glee:

  • “The Most Wonderful Day of the Year” from Rudolph
  • “We Need a Little Christmas” from Mame
  • ”Merry Christmas, Darling” by The Carpenters
  • ”Baby It’s Cold Outside” by Frank Loesser
  • ”Last Christmas” by Wham!
  • ”Welcome Christmas” from How the Grinch Stole Christmas

I saw the premiere before I left and I have to say, I was somewhat impressed. Of course it's not as good as BMW but I think they have good potential.

I was very impressed by the first episode of Doctor Who I watched which I believe was called "Rose". It was creepy  but with enough of a hint of humor that it made for an enjoyable and interesting program. Me and my dad will definitely be continuing to watch more and more episodes of Doctor Who in the future.

The answer, obviously, is Doctor Who. The show has technically been running for almost 51 years. It's  a British T.V. show about an alien with two hearts who has been living for over 1,000 years, with a time machine that can travel anywhere, or anytime, in the universe. But there's a catch to his machine, which is known as a T.A.R.D.I.S, (Time And Relative Dimension In Space): It is forever broken and disguised as a 1950's telephone box. He chooses not to fix it, despite the companions he travels with wondering to themselves, "Why doesn't he fix it? Why did he have to break it as telephone police box?" He also tends to attempt to keep the companions for as long as possible. They tend to keep him in check, safe, sane, and non-genocidal. After all, being 1,800 years old, and I'm just guessing precisely how old he is, can make you feel lonely, angry, confused, scared, and vengeful. He had to destroy his whole planet to protect the rest of the universe from being destroyed by his people and their age old enemies, the Daleks. He will forevermore remember that day, and as punishment, from the self concious weapon he used, will have to live through for a long, long time.
