Justin Timberlake

Unless you've been living on another planet (or tryin' to go to space like Lance Bass,) you probably know that Justin Timberlake, from *NSYNC, has been a busy boy. His first solo album, Justified, hits stores November 5, 2002 and the first single, Like I Love You, is hott! The song isn't the only thing that's hot though - Justin's sportin' a new hip-hop look. That boy would even look good wearing a barrel. Check out www.justintimberlake.com for more info.

Nick Carter

Nick Carter, of the Backstreet Boys, is also doing his own thing. Nick's solo release, Now or Never, hits stores October 29, 2002. The first single, Help Me, is already gettin' play on the radio. If he is your fave BSB boy, then pick up a copy of Nick Carter's solo CD and show him your love.

Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland, of Destiny's Child, teamed up with Nelly for a duet called Dilemma. The song's been really popular so Sony bumped up the release date of her solo CD, Simply Deep, to October 22, 2002. The first single Stole has hit the radio so if ya haven't heard it yet, phone your local station and request it. Check out www.kellyrowlandonline.com.

Nick Lachey

98 Degrees hottie Nick Lachey is also taking a drive down Solo Avenue and hopes to release his CD in early 2003. Nick told mtv.com that, "It's going to be a little different from what people are used to hearing 98 Degrees do. It's going to have a rock/soul feel, kind of like George Michael. I've always been a huge fan of his and there's just a huge void for someone to do that kind of guitar-driven, soulful music." For updates on Nick Lachey's solo project head to www.98degrees.com.

  • What do you think of solo projects? Are they a recipe for disaster or do they bring creative energy back to the band?

“Instruction in world history in the so-called high schools is even today in a very sorry condition. Few teachers understand that the study of history can never be to learn historical dates and events by heart and recite them by rote; that what matters is not whether the child knows exactly when this battle or that was fought, when a general was born, or even when a monarch (usually a very insignificant one) came into the crown of his forefathers. No, by the living God, this is very unimportant. To 'learn' history means to seek and find the forces which are the causes leading to those effects which we subsequently perceive as historical events.”
