The Vampire Diaries: Season 2, Episode 16 :: The House Guest

Feb 23, 2010

This week on The Vampire Diaries (Season 2, Episode 16), Katherine weasels her way into the lives of Damon, Stefan and Elena. Also, two characters face a surprising death. Check out our recap of “The House Guest”, which aired February 24, 2011.

She’s Back

Last week, Katherine was finally released from the tomb after Elijah was killed. Instead of running, Katherine decides to weasel her way into the lives of Damon, Stefan and Elena. Although this upsets Elena, Damon and Stefan want to keep her around so she can help destroy Klaus. Katherine reveals that if a witch can channel enough power, they can destroy an “original” vampire. If the gang can locate the witch burial ground in Mystic Falls, they might be able to destroy Klaus.

Witch Hunt

Luka’s dad Jonas doesn’t want to join forces with the Salvatore brothers, so he sends Luka over to the boys’ house to find the body of Elijah. While he’s there Katherine stumbles upon him and gets stabbed. Damon hears the kerfuffle and jumps in to rescue Katherine, torching Luka. Upset by his son’s death, Jonas seeks revenge and heads to the Grill to find Elena. Chaos ensues and Matt gets stabbed trying to protect Caroline. When Jonas finally finds Elena he soon discovers that it is actually Katherine in disguise, and she quickly finishes him off, but not before he gives Bonnie her powers back.

Secrets

Matt has been becoming curious about the strangeness happening around him for the past few episodes – I mean, he is surrounded by vampires. Now that Caroline and Matt are back together, she wants to be honest with him about who she is and why she has been acting strange. When Jonas stabs Matt, Caroline knows the only way to save him is to give him her blood. This obviously requires her to reveal her true identity as a vampire. Unfortunately, Matt does not take this news well and thinks Caroline was responsible for his sister’s death.

The Vampire Diaries is taking a short break and will return April 7, 2011, with all new episodes! Will Matt trust Caroline? What kind of trouble will Katherine get into? Stay tuned for more Vampire Diaries!

She is totally a million dollar find. Can you do any of those things? Anyway she's already won and words like these won't change that, or stop her from lighting the sky, because stars are dull compared to her. And I'm sure she's already dealt with haters and probably won't even read your post. Anyway my dad says that everyone who made it to the finals have futures ahead of them, and will earn millions of dollars and probably have shows in Vegas and everywhere else anyway. By the way, no, I don't only like her because she won. I was rooting for her from the first (well okay, maybe not first, but definitely second) act. We all have our fandoms to defend, and girl, what you said was harsh.
