Zombies are trampling your lawn and knocking at your door! Luckily for you, your plants will fight back! Check out our Plants Vs. Zombies review.

Despite its gruesome name, is a cutesy tower defense game that is appropriate for the whole family. The game is not a new one, as it has already been released for the computer, XBox, and even the iPhone.

Get Off the Lawn!

Zombies are walking towards your house looking to eat your brain! Luckily, you have a greenthumb and can plant over 48 different kinds of plants to protect yourself, including the Peashooters that shoots at approaching zombies, the defensive Wall-Nut that blocks zombies for a period of time, and the awesome Venus Zombie Trap that can eat multiple zombies at once.

In order to afford these plants, you must collect the sunshines that fall from the sky. Eventually you will have to defend your backyard pool and the roof during day and night. Adding to the challenge is the fact that there are 26 different kinds of zombies to fend off, including zombies with ladders, zomboni driving zambonies, and cute dolphin riding zombies. All of these combinations means that the game is always interesting and exciting.

Zen Garden

There are also different modes to enjoy to keep things interesting, including survival mode, puzzles, a zen garden, and four new mini-games. You won't always be planting things or fighting off zombies, sometimes you might be bowling or playing whack-a-zombie. There is also multiplayer mode available, including a single cartridge game that you can enjoy with friends.

Overall, Plants Vs. Zombies is an awesome game. It is fun, very interesting, and addicting. However, when things get busy on screen, the game can slow down and lag a bit. The controls are not perfectly precise and easy to use either, which can cause some frustration. If you have am iTouch or iPhone, this game runs better on it, looks better graphically and is cheaper too. Highly recommended, especially on another system.
