  • Colin Firth in The King’s Speech – Winner!
  • Javier Bardem in Biutiful
  • Jeff Bridges in True Grit
  • Jesse Eisenberg in The Social Network
  • James Franco in 127 Hours

Many of you may not have seen The King’s Speech. But the reviews were excellent! Colin Firth portrayed a king who had to overcome a speech impediment, or a stutter, in order to make a very important speech.

  • Natalie Portman in Black Swan – Winner!
  • Annette Benning in The Kids Are All Right
  • Nicole Kidman in Rabbit Hole
  • Jennifer Lawrence in Winter’s Bone
  • Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine

Gorgeous girl-next-door Natalie Portman was the favorite to win. And win it she did, for her haunting role as a ballerina in the psychological thriller, Black Swan.

Best Animated Film

With only three movies nominated in this category, it was a no-brainer that Toy Story 3 would walk away with the Oscar. But even though it was a terrific movie—the best of the Toy Story trilogy—there were many other animated films that deserved nominations this year, such as Despicable Me, Tangled and Guardians of Ga’Hoole.

Art Direction

This category is another no-brainer! From the amazing special effects to the colourful sets and costumes, Alice in Wonderland was definitely a work of art!

Costume Design

  • Alice in Wonderland – Winner!
  • I Am Love
  • The King’s Speech
  • The Tempest
  • True Grit

Alice in Wonderland takes home another Oscar for its elaborate costumes. Another well-deserved award!

  • The Social Network – Winner!
  • How To Train Your Dragon
  • Inception
  • The King’s Speech
  • 127 Hours

For those of you who didn’t see The Social Network, the film was all about the creation of Facebook. There was a lot of drama and betrayal that went along with this true story. And even though the film isn’t climactic, it’s worth seeing.

Music ( Original Song)

Courtesy of Disney
  • We Belong Together from Toy Story 3 – Winner!
  • Coming Home from Country Strong
  • I See the Light from Tangled
  • If I Rise from 127 Hours

Toy Story 3 takes home another Oscar for the fun-loving song, We Belong Together.

  • Black Swan
  • The Fighter
  • Inception
  • The Kids Are All Right
  • 127 Hours
  • The Social Network
  • Toy Story 3

Well, it was a long shot. With the odds being 1 in 10, Toy Story 3 would have needed a miracle to walk away with this win. Nevertheless, we congratulate everyone who worked on The King’s Speech.

I know little to nothing about Tom Hiddleston, but he seems like a really nice guy, and I'd hate for Taylor to ruin his reputation. However, that isn't why I dislike their relationship. I dislike the fact that they are together because Taylor cheated on Calvin Harris with him and is playing the victim, as she does. Once her and Tom split, which they- inevitably- eventually will, she is going to blame it all on him although it will not be his fault. (If Tom is to ever cheat on her, she has absolutely no right to cry and whine about it. Maybe it'll be his fault, but it won't be his fault, if you get what I'm saying.) I give them 2 months until they break up. And it won't be Tom's fault. Hopefully it will happen before I spend a day with Tom so that there is no chance he would bring Taylor with him. Also, yes, she is just using guys for music.
