Dear Dish-It, My Best Friend Steals From Me

Dec 27, 2006

Dear Dish-It, is here to whisper "ttyl after I've thought about this some more".

Dear Dish-It,

Here's my question. How long does semen live? Like, if you get it on your hand and then it's like, still alive on your hand, how much longer will it live? Thank you.
Hockey4574

Dear Hockey4574,

Most often semen will die soon after it has been exposed to air because the ideal conditions for semen is a warm, moist environment. Sometimes though, semen will stick around for a while. It is known to be able to live within a woman's uterus for up to five days, so it's not entirely impossible for it to hang out on your hand for a while. The best plan is to wash your hands with warm, soapy water if your worried about the semen setting-up camp on your hands.

Dear Dish-It,

I think my best friend has been stealing from me secretly. Every time she spends a night and leaves, there is always something missing. Then, the next week she happens to have the exact same thing I was missing. I'd try to make it sound like I'm not accusing her by saying things like, "Hey I had something just like that except it's now missing," and she'd always come up with an excuse like "Oh my mom got this for me from her work." I pretend to believe her but really inside I'm thinking, "Yeah, right. Sure you did." I'm scared to confront her and I'm also scared I might be wrong about my clues. I know for a fact I didn't misplace or lose these things. I don't know what to do. Please help me on this problem as soon as possible. Thanks!
BMA

Dear BMA,

It doesn't sound like you need to be doubting whether or not your right about your friend. Things are going missing every time she's been over and then you see her with those exact same things later on. If this had been something that had only happened once or twice, then maybe you'd need to give her the benefit of the doubt. But since this sounds like a recurring nightmare, I think it's time for you to confront this girl and set things straight. Tell her if your stuff keeps disappearing every time she is over, she will no longer be welcome at your place. If you are set on staying friends with her, then you need to let her know her thieving ways are not cool. Otherwise, she's going to continue to take your things, and advantage, of you.

Dear Dish-It,

I take Lithium and it makes me see vampires. What should I do? They won't go away.
catch22

Dear catch22,

I am going to assume that you are taking Lithium because a doctor prescribed it to you, since you should not be taking anti-depressants under any other circumstances. You should make an appointment to see your doctor as soon as possible so that he or she can re-evaluate the dosage they have prescribed to you. Hopefully a simple re-adjustment of the amount you are taking will rid you of your hallucinations. If for some reason you are taking Lithium without a doctor's consent, then you should get to a doctor pronto. Dabbling with drugs for kicks can cause serious damage to your body. You should also check out www.teenhelp.org for some good resources on drugs, addiction and the help that you can get. Good Luck!

So, ya gotta burnin' question? Need some love directions? Thinkin' 'bout stuff like depression, sex,how ya feel 'bout YOURSELF (that's called "self-esteem"), boyfriends, girlfriends, losin' old friends, bullyin' or peer pressure, but too scared to ask the parents? Don't be scared to .
