2011 Prom Beauty

Prom is the perfect time to experiment with your beauty routine! If you’ve ever wanted to try wearing a bright pink, orange or red lipstick, smoky eyeshadow or a totally bronzed and peachy toned face, a fun night out like prom is a great opportunity to test drive your new look! Go sleek and old school Hollywood glamour with a simple slick of red lipstick, or 1980s fluoro with some neon pink lipstick - who knows, it might even become your new signature look!

Bright Lips

A pop of bright color on your lips is the easiest way to add glamour - just swipe it on and go! With a strong lip like this you don’t need a lot of other makeup - just add a bit of mascara and sparkly nude eyeshadow and you’re ready for prom! Try Brighton Rock pink lipstick by Topshop, $10

Coloured Eyeliner

The modern girl’s way to wearing color on your eyes - try a bit of purple or bright blue eyeliner. Slightly smudge your line with a q-tip so it doesn’t look too perfect. Keep your lips subdued with some pink or peachy lipgloss! You can even use some bright eyeshadow and and eyeliner brush to make a line! Try LA Splash Metallic Eyeliner in Teal Mania or Ulta Baked Eyeshadow in Drama, $4

The petal pink and rosy look suits everyone - all you have to do is adjust the shade of pinks you use to flatter your skin tone. Don’t be afraid to go with super rosy cheeks for prom night! Put a bit of shimmery bronzer on the tops of your cheekbones to instantly fake a bit of tan! Try Maybelline Shine Sensational Lipgloss in Berry Bella, $5.99

Fun Beauty Tips!

  • Put shimmery body lotion on your legs and arms - it’s what the celebs do before they hit the red carpet!
  • Your lipstick can double as a bit of blush in a pinch - just dab a bit on each cheek and blend!
  • Sparkly gold or beige eyeshadow can double as a highlighter - dab a bit on the tops of your cheekbones for a bit of sheen!
  • This spring and summer is all about fun pastel nail colors like lilac, baby blue, mint green and citrus - the perfect warm season palette for your mani or pedi!

Yes, purely for the fact that you should not "hate" your sister (or anyone, for that matter).  I'm guessing by "get in trouble for her", you mean she does something wrong and the blame is all put on you? Yeah, little siblings tend to do that a lot. My brother did for the longest time, until my parents found out how much a liar he is. She, hopefully, will grow out of this eventually. Either that, or your parent[s]/guardian[s] will eventually see through her. You lose your friends to her? By this do you mean your friends want to hang out with her and they want you to tag along and you don't? Or do you mean your friends chose your sister over you? If it's the latter, then perhaps you shouldn't have ever referred to those people as friends. You'll find friends who'll prefer you over your sister, I'm sure of it. The only thing I can tell you to do is try to get along with your sister. Every group of siblings has their cats and dogs moment in life, but they grow out of it (most of the time; there are, of course, circumstances where it doesn't work out that way). Please be grateful for your sister, even if you two fight a lot. You never know how much you need something until it's gone.

If that fails, tell another trusted adult, like your mother. I'm sure someone you're close to would do their best to get justice. This is a major problem and it's a shame no one's done anything to help. No one listens to me anyway but my friends
