Carlos fell in love with musical theater in sixth grade and landed his first national commercial for the Super Soaker water gun when he was 13. “From then I wanted TV, film, acting, singing, theatre…anything,” he says.

TV Time

Two years later, Carlos was cast on ER, Judging Amy, Summerland and Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide but still made time for local theater productions. While attending the Boston Conservatory, Carlos auditioned for Big Time Rush and was selected in after his third screen test. “Basically, I sent in a tape in the very beginning and now here I am,” he explains. “It’s crazy!”

One-Man Band

Beyond being a talented actor, Carlos is also a gifted musician – he plays guitar and piano, and is undaunted by the prospect of learning new instruments. “Yesterday I started messing around on drums and I really like it, so I’m going to try and pick it up. And I just recently bought a ukulele, so I’ve been messing around with that.”

Shooting Star

For now, Carlos is concentrating on his hit Nickelodeon show and new album, but he’s still setting his sights high for the future. “I would love to some more serious films, and I would definitely love to go to Broadway,” he says. “That’s always been a goal of mine.”
