Cars 2 Movie Review

Cars 2 Movie Review - Reviewed by Kidzworld on Nov 01, 2011

British spies, international espionage, and a World Grand Prix! You’ll find it all in Cars 2, which hit theaters on June 24, 2011.

The World Grand Prix

In Cars 2, race car Lightning McQueen’s (Owen Wilson) best pal, Mater (Larry the Cable Guy), takes center stage. Lightning McQueen is invited to race in the World Grand Prix, sponsored by the creator of a new, energy-efficient oil called Allinol. He invites Mater, a rusty tow truck, along for the ride. But what begins as a chance to travel to places like Japan, Italy and England, quickly turns deadly.

Becoming An International Spy

After being mistaken for an American spy, Mater gets caught in the middle of an espionage assignment. He works alongside an expert British spy and his rookie partner, who are attempting to uncover the mastermind behind an evil plan. Someone has created a camera that can heat up Allinol so that the race cars burn out on the tracks. But too much heat could cause the death of some cars, and Lightning McQueen is their final target.

The Bottom Line

Cars 2 is just as entertaining as the first Cars film. However, Mater is funnier in small doses. So having him as the main character proved a little exhausting. The plot offers great action scenes and a nice twist at the end. Tell us what you thought of Cars 2 in our comments section below! If I had to make simple choice, I'd prefer to live in It's Kind of a Funny Story simply for the people who were held in it. Despite the location setting for the story, I feel as if I could very easily fall for the characters all over again, especially in an even more personal matter. But, of course, if I was  going with a straight up fantasy like everyone seems to be, I'd most likely go with a world like Dorthy Must Die series or Alice in Wonderland. Both being these magical worlds filled with quirky creatures and people, so how could you get bored? Oh, and of course let us not forget the plenty of harrowing fight scenes for freedom from the evil queens and her many brainless followers.

The Iron Giant was way too advanced in some ways to be a child's movie, yet it was.

I would live in The Outsiders because it's a classic book. I would love to go on adventures with the gang and read books and watch movies with Ponyboy. (Because I too always believed I was the only one who enjoyed them.) I would love to open up to Johnny because he is such a kind hearted soul.
