Pokémon Black and White Notable Cards

Jun 28, 2011

With the release of Pokémon Black and White Booster Series and a new set of rules, several cards from the Black and White set is becoming very popular! Besides the Full Art Reshiram and Zekrom, there are several other notable cards in this set that you ought to keep your eye out for!

Pokémon Cards!

Ability Emboar: There are two Emboars released with this set. The one you want to find is the one with the Ability called Inferno Fandango. Once you have the Ability Emboar on your bench, you can activate its ability and attach as many Fire Energy Cards as you want to any Pokémon you want every turn! This is super powerful because normally you can only attach one Energy Card per turn. Being able to attach multiple Energy Cards means that you can use the stronger attacks faster!

Ability Serperior: Two versions of Serperior were also released in Black and White. One of them has the Ability called Royal Heal, letting you heal 10 damage from each of your Pokémon between turns.  This works very well with Rainbow Energy and Donphan Prime.

Zoroark: This illusion Pokémon is one of the features of the Video Game. Staying true to its abilities in the Pokémon Movie, the Zoroark in the Black and White Booster Set can copy the attacks of your opponent’s Defending Pokémon! If you attach a Special Dark Energy Card to Zoroark, it will do 10 more damage than your opponent’s Pokémon, making it a wonderful counter for Zekrom and Reshiram!

Trainer, Supporter, and Item Cards!

Professor Juniper: This card lets you discard your hand and draw seven cards. It’s quite a powerful hand-refresher, especially when you only have one or two cards left in your hand!

Super Scoop-Up: If you flip heads, you may pick up any one of your Pokémon along with all the Energy Cards attached to it back into your hand. This way all the damage counters and conditions are also removed from this Pokémon! This is a reprint of an older card.

Upcoming Events

The Pokémon TCG National Tournament will be happening this weekend in Toronto, and you will definitely see many of these new Black and White cards in play there!
