Jake and the Never Land Pirates DVD Review

Jake and the Never Land Pirates DVD Review - Reviewed by Kidzworld on Sep 26, 2011
( Rating: 3 Star Rating)

Disney Junior's hit cartoon series Jake and the Never Land Pirates is out on DVD September 27. Find out more right here on Kidzworld!

Jake and his shipmates Izzy and Cubby ride the waves off the coast of Never Land in their pirate ship Bucky  along with Jake’s trusty parrot Scully. Each episode is full of fun hijinx against the wicked but foolish Captain Hook and his not-so-bright first mate Mr. Smee.

The gang travels from swamps to jungles on their swashbuckling adventures. Cubby’s good heart and Izzy’s girl power and pixie dust help get them out of every scrape, not to mention all of Scully’s good advice, but it’s Jake leadership and rock star enthusiasm that conquer the day in the end. Whether it’s returning Captain Hook’s hat or retrieving Izzy’s special polka-dot shell, they never forget to ask the audience to help out and join in. Jake is voiced by teen actor Colin Ford (from the hit TV show Supernatural) and Izzy by 13-year-old actress Madison Pettis (from The Game Plan and Corey in the House.)

Every episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates features music, whether it’s Jake himself rocking out (with Captain Hook trying to steal his guitar) to all the shipmates singing together about their adventures. To top it all off the DVD it comes with a separate CD featuring 7 of the show’s catchiest songs, like "Talk Like a Pirate" and "Aw Coconuts". The DVD features pirate music videos and a pirate-oke sing-along. That’s not all you get though. If you’re having trouble finding a Halloween costume this year, just look inside the DVD case, you’ll find a pirate’s eye-patch tucked inside so that you can feel like one the swashbuckling Never Land Pirates! Jake and the Never Land Pirates hits stores September 27.

But that's like waaayyyy after the Justice League. Which comic was this because the only man in any DC continuity that has ever "killed" Superman was Doomsday. Are you sure that wasn't an Elseworld story?
