The top 6 all-stars on America’s Next Top Model Cycle 17 head to the beautiful country of Greece! Check out episode 9, featuring guest just Nikos Papadopoulos, which aired on November 9, 2011.
Speeches
Work began immediately as the all-stars landed in Greece. When they descended from the plane, each girl had to give an arrival speech to a small crowd. The winner, who spoke clearly and incorporated the most Greek phrases, was Allison. As a prize, she received a bracelet from one of Greece’s top jewelry designers.
Designers
After settling into their stunning Grecian accommodations, the girls learned about a great opportunity: they would each get to work with a fashion designer to create a gown for their finale runway show. Of course, only the top two girls would actually get to wear the gowns.
Values
In the spirit of all things Greek, the girls posed for their photo shoot inside of a life-sized Greek salad. Shannon felt conflicted because the girls were posing in underwear. And even though the underwear looked exactly like swimsuits, she refused to budge, wanting to stick to her values. Meanwhile, Laura fell ill the morning of the photo shoot, and her suffering was evident in her photos.
Elimination
Unfortunately for Shannon, refusing to do the shoot meant elimination from the competition. The judges respected her decision, however, they thought that she was too stuck on the word “underwear.” Instead, she should be more concerned with how much skin is showing, not what the article of clothing is called.
