Happy Feet Two, the sequel to the hit animated film about plucky penguins, has hit theatres, see some of your fave characters return to the silver screen and dance on the ice floes. Find out more in the Kidzworld movie review of Happy Feet Two in 3D!

Returning to the tribe of toe-tapping penguins in Happy Feet Two, we see that Mambo (voiced by actor Elijah Wood) is all grown up, and has a son of his own, Erik. But Erik isn’t quite like the rest of the penguins in his tribe - while they like to fandango on floating ice, Erik doesn’t like to dance at all. In fact, he’s enthralled by a penguin outside of the cult, The Mighty Sven (Hank Azaria). Sven is renowned for his ability to fly and has his own cult-like following, and Erik runs away from the tribe to follow Sven. But in a twist of fate, The Emperor Nation (which means Erik’s whole family) is trapped on an iceberg after it shifts and find themselves in a massive fish shortage. Will Erik find a way to help them? You’ll have to see the film!

Happy Feet Two has all the eye-popping animation techniques of the first film, and the 3D effect brings the whole Emperor Nation tribe back to life, as if the last movie never ended! The movie features an upbeat soundtrack, with classic ‘80’s hits like Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation. The vocal talents of singer Pink are also relied on to bring the music to the forefront of the film, she does the voice for Erik’s mom, and gets her own memorable solo. It also features some laugh out loud moments, especially when the scheming krill, voiced by stars Matt Damon and Brad Pitt, try to find ways to climb the food chain. HF2 has all the toe-tapping and sing-along parts as the first film, but lovers of the original Happy Feet may find the plot slightly familiar to the first one. All in all, it’s a fun musical romp with a great environmental message and amazing animation featuring some of the animal kingdom’s most lovable arctic fowl.
